Newer Fables
House your children in the castle,
Of an evil, chemist witch,
And feed them deadly potions
So that Daddy can get rich.
As the government paints Humpty,
On a fragile, nuclear shell,
Hand your child an empty bucket.
And quick, send him down the well.
Now, the giant corporations,
Somehow hired all the Jacks,
And the big bad wolf is building
Hoods made of alternate facts.
Its half past once upon a time ,
Ending before the beginning
Strange are the rhymes we live by,
And why are the monsters winning?
Can you tell a bedtime story
When the ending makes you cry?
So before you pluck old Mother Goose,
Softly kiss your child goodbye.
