I love many works from other artists..

The Group of Seven are outstanding Canadian artists, I have learned by painting in their style. Featured are paintings in the style of Tom Thompson. All the paintings in this section are mine.. but done trying to emulate the style of another artist.

I also really love the works of Lawren Harris. His simple colours and bold shapes are gorgeous. Here I play with his northern look, and try my own simple shapes

My little bird friend is done in the style of Angelo Moulton. I love the exercise of trying to do a bird in 15 minutes… the duck is another example of this exercise.

And how could I not mention my wonderful cousin.. Cheryl O… whose paintings are an ongoing inspiration, as is her mentorship! The frog was her prompt.. things that fly..or at least wish they could! The Birches was a paint together with the Painter’s Creative group, and we did a study of a Lawren Harris painting in the Landscapes course, a farm scene with a composition from A.J. Cassen, and a Sunflowers by Josef Derechichei. Studies done of other artist’s originals are not for sale.
